Refreshing Rain

Let us acknowledge the Lord; let us press on to acknowledge Him. As surely as the sun rises, He will appear. He will come to us like the winter rains. Like the spring rains that water the earth. Hosea 6:3 NIV

Lately in my part of the world it’s been dry. Really dry. The grass is brown in my neighborhood and we need rain badly.

If you’ve been living in shame or silence, it may feel like you’re in an emotional/spiritual desert as well. Your life may feel all dried up and parched. You’re wanting to see maybe just a little oasis,  a small flicker of  hope, a refreshing shower? Just something to keep you moving forward. Sometimes it’s just hard to get out of bed and face another day.

Whenever I have a day like this, when I get into God’s word, He is ALWAYS faithful to show up. His love is constant, as surely as the sun rises, or the spring rains come, He comes to me and meets me where I’m at. So let’s press on, persevering, and acknowledge that God is God, and we are not. Whatever we’re going through we can rest assured that it is for our good. Remember: He has the big picture, we don’t.  He promises to be with us and never leave or forsake us. That love is is worth our perseverance (inner strength to withstand stress in order to accomplish God’s best).
