Here’s another easy project that knits up quick and makes a sweet little colorful hatband to adorn your favorite hat. The pattern is simple to memorize- only two rows, repeated over and over. Exactly the same as the bookmark pattern from December 12, 2019. Take a look! Easy to memorize- you can whip one up while you’re watching your favorite movie!

Supplies:

Fingering weight yarn, (variegated looks best)

knitting needles, size 2

Directions for Linen Stitch

Cast on 10 stitches with long-tail cast on.

Row 1 (wrong side): purl 1, slip 1 (with yarn in back). Repeat this pattern for all 10 stitches, to the end of the row.

Row 2 (right side): knit 1, slip 1 (with yarn in front). Repeat this pattern for all 10 stitches, to the end of the row.

Repeat as many times as necessary for a length to cover the circumference of your hat. Bind off. Whipstitch ends together, and voila! Make more than one to switch out or give to a friend!
