Pray for Truth and Wisdom

It’s June. I feel sad and heartbroken. Weary and heavy laden. I’ve been silent- can’t find words. You, too?

I grieve with those affected by the pandemic. I mourn for my friends of color and community. I’m saddened by the disillusionment at gay pride gatherings.

Yet, the birds keep singing. The sun keeps rising. God sees- remaining faithful and sovereign.

No one will find me in the long line of moms doling out hugs at the gay pride parade.

I’m the one giving a voice to the spouses hurting from betrayal and divorce. I’m the one with hugs and encouragement for the ones who’ve been blindsided- those spouses and children who’ve been left behind while culture applauds those who have “come out”.

No one is left unaffected. The shrapnel left by the exploding grenade hits everyone in the room. Extended family and friends are wounded as well, and others move on without care, grateful for the relief the “gay” person must feel.

Deception.

The Word tells us to wake up. The enemy is a deceiver. The world is scared of offending, so it doesn’t offend. Meanwhile, in the silence, Satan’s chaos continues.

Let’s look at Proverbs 8:3. Wisdom is crying out near the gates at the entrances to the city.

Wisdom says, “For whoever finds me finds life and receives favor from the Lord. But whoever fails to find me harms himself; all who hate me love death.” (Proverbs Chapter 8:35-36)

I grieve for myself.

I grieve for others.

I grieve for the lives lost to deception.

Our world needs Truth and Wisdom.

Pray for Truth and Wisdom.

  1. Such timely words, my sister. I pray, too, for those living out of God’s grace. It seems they are taking Bible verses and turning those the words into support for their lifestyle. ??
