Years ago, I hung this framed print on my fireplace for the Christmas holiday season. Words taken from the familiar carol, Oh Holy Night, I loved these lyrics.
Why would the weary world rejoice?
It rejoices because we have a Savior in Jesus!
After the holidays were over, I decided it was such a good reminder, I left it up to stay- year round.
Do you need a reminder to rejoice?
Are you weary from day in- day out discouraging news, both worldly and local? Perhaps you’re in a state of grief over a loss that you can’t seem to shake-
Perhaps you’ve got hard decisions ahead but God seems distant and you feel uncertainty about what to do next?
Jesus provides both strength for our journey AND joy along the way- even when we’re weary or anxious.
“Come unto me all who are weary and heavy-laden and I will give you rest.” Matthew 11:28
Stop what you’re doing and take a moment right now- to go to Him and thank him for rest for the weary.
