Walk in His Ways

When you hear “Mount of Olives” what do you envision? Would it surprise you to know it is presently a Jewish cemetery- not a grove of olive trees?

Much has changed in Jerusalem over the years, but a lot of similarities still exist (comparing the days of Jeremiah to our present culture).

Upon the exile from Egypt, God commanded the people to be obedient- to walk in His ways, but they didn’t listen or pay attention.

Instead, they followed the stubborn inclinations of their evil hearts. Stiff-necked, not responding to correction, going backward, not forward. (Jeremiah 8:23-28)

God told Jeremiah to lament “for the Lord has rejected and abandoned this generation that is under his wrath”.

What do we learn from this history lesson?

Take a minute to ask:

Is my heart lined up with scripture?

Am I choosing obedience?

What am I focusing on now, that needs to change?

“Your word is a lamp for my feet, a light on my path. I have taken an oath and confirmed it, that I will follow your righteous laws.” Psalm 119:106-107 NIV

If you aren’t walking with the Lord, it’s not too late. He is the rock when all else is sinking sand. Choose Him and anticipate blessing in your life.
