NEVER FRUMPIFY?

Say what? Ha ha. That’s right, friend. As your battle buddy, I’m going to appoint myself to teach you a little bit about self-care today.

So often after experiencing betrayal, we feel confused and sad- we’d rather stay in bed, pull the covers over our head, and let the day go by without us.

Feeling confused and filled with shame, we stop caring for ourselves, neglecting some essential needs. We believe the lie that we are unlovable- nobody cares or understands.

I’ve been there. Done that. But it’s simply NOT TRUE. In Deuteronomy 31:6 NIV God tells us to be brave:

“Be strong and courageous; do not be afraid or terrified because of them, for the Lord your God goes with you. He will never leave you nor forsake you.”

I know you may feel scared and afraid, but God‘s word is true. He is faithful and is upholding you with his righteous right hand, high above your storm-tossed sea.

So here’s the challenge:

  1. Take a look in your closet. Find the cutest outfit you have. Get out of your PJs or the big baggy sweats you’ve been clinging to, and put them aside.
  2. Go take a shower. Put on a little make up, spray on your favorite perfume, and get dressed in your “I look cute” outfit.
  3. Start believing WHO and WHOSE you are. Look in the mirror and say OUT LOUD, “I am beautiful. God loves me exactly the way I am. I am clothed in strength and dignity and I can laugh at the days to come.”

You’re on your way, beautiful friend! Keep these habits up and soon you’ll be renewing your mind, replacing lies with truth and healing on your journey to joy. ❤️

  1. I’m all for comfort! ”Not frumpifying” can be something to work on if we are stuck in a place of not feeling good about ourselves, but sometimes it can be a pj sort of day, too! 😍
