God offered rest to Israel, in the form of the Sabbath, but they wouldn’t listen. They rebelled against His perfect provision- repeatedly! (Isaiah 28:11-16)
When God offers us something He knows we really need and we refuse it? It’s disobedience.
Discussing it in The Breathing Room, one friend said it was like trying to get a toddler to take a nap. What a perfect analogy!
Instead of trusting God’s way, Israel built a strong refuge of lies and deception. They thought they were invisible and hid in the darkness. (We often do the same.)
Building on the Cornerstone assures rest. Weary? Worn out trying to get through one more day? Jesus will meet every need. Go to him to find true rest.
