Trust Again?

How will I ever trust anyone again?

Ever asked yourself this question? After a betrayal, it’s common to think others aren’t worthy of trust, either.

It may be difficult to trust because of past experience, but we can learn HOW to trust and decide WHO is safe to trust.

We test the waters. We ask the questions. We pay attention to our instincts.

Is this truthful person? Do they have integrity—doing the right thing even when no one’s watching? What about red flags? Do they feel safe, or am I just needing attention, feeling insecure or wanting a space filled?

Remind ourself of our worth. We never have to settle for less or be a doormat for anyone. Not lowering expectations, but remaining firm in our beliefs, we know and set our boundaries.

We can do this. There ARE people worthy of our trust. We start by being trustworthy ourselves and recognize healing is a process, gradual and slow, never hurried.

      1. Great post. As you say, ‘we start by being trustworthy ourselves’, and we learn more than ever before, to trust our instincts. ⚘
