He is Able

“Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us.” 

Ephesians 3:20NIV

God is ABLE, but after learning your husband has compromised his sexual integrity, you may feel UNABLE. 

Unable to sleep. Unable to eat. Perhaps, unable to catch your breath?

The “unables” go on and on. It’s going be ok. It will get better. I promise.

You may be questioning how a loving God would ever allow this to happen in your marriage. Or, you may be questioning if there even IS a God!

It is normal to experience a crisis of faith after such a terrible trauma has happened. In fact, 

most women do. 

Do not feel like you’re all alone or you are not a good Christian because of your present doubts, fears, or questions. That would be a lie. 

Hear truth. God doesn’t owe us an explanation for why this betrayal happened, but God (El Roi) still sees you. He saw Haggar in the desert and He sees you, too. 

Not only does God know what happened, He knows you intimately and He knew how you would respond when you became aware of your reality—no matter how devastating.

God understands suffering—he suffered, too. Because Jesus was betrayed, He “gets” you. It’s no longer necessary to hide in shame or secrecy.  

Aware of how much your heart is hurting, He understands why you would want to isolate yourself from others and Him. Go to Jesus anyway—the One who loves best and does immeasurably more than we can ask or imagine.

  1. A good reminder, which I would love to share with someone now. Unfortunately she doesn’t want to hear ANYthing about Jesus right now, so I continue to pray for her. Only He can invade her mind with the memories of what she has known of Him in the past. And He remains the same, yesterday, today, and forever.
