Doubting God’s love?

Not all women experiencing betrayal question God’s love for them, but some do. When I was in the thick of it, I admit I did, too.

Reading the familiar story of Mary, Martha, and Lazarus, I had to wonder what was going through the sisters’ minds when they sent for Jesus and he didn’t show up when they desperately needed him.

Surely they knew Jesus loved them, but was his love genuine? Did he truly care? If he did, then why wouldn’t he come immediately when he heard Lazarus was dying? Was the enemy at work trying to convince them Jesus wasn’t who he said he was?

When Jesus showed up, he was grieved by their grief! He wept with them. And then he performed the amazing miracle of raising Lazarus from the dead, which he knew about long before it happened, so God would be glorified.

Friends, never believe God isn’t watching—that He isn’t aware of your needs. He sees and knows! And just because it may feel like he’s forgotten about you, the TRUTH is, “He will never leave nor forsake you.” (Hebrews 13:5)

Trials in our lives provide opportunities to prove God’s strength and faithfulness. He cares—and in his perfect timing he will make every wrong, right.
