Remember the Victories

Quite often on our healing journeys, we fail to remember the little victories along the way. The signs of proof commemorating how far we’ve actually come.

For years I’ve had a sixth sense near the anniversary date of my discovery day—the day I thought my life was over. Maybe you have, too?

Be it the change of season, full moon, or whatever— I’d get a nauseous feeling— a triggered physical reminder of what happened years ago.

So on this particular dreaded day of the year, I surprise myself to realize the majority of the day had passed by without one thought about the date. It was the first time in a long time my betrayal had not been the foremost thought in my brain the minute I woke up, or what consumed and plagued me for several days prior.

Friends, I count this as a win. God‘s goodness, mercy, and redemption of the day all rolled into one precious gift his gift of ongoing healing. We can rest assured God hears our prayers for restoration and the great physician is so good to deliver day by day, hour by hour, moment by moment—all by his grace.
