My Redeemer Lives

“I know that my Redeemer lives, and in the end he will stand upon the earth.” Job 19:25

If you’ve ever read the book of Job you will quickly understand why he was completely at a loss, with all hope gone. He lost everything.

After betrayal, it’s understandable why we feel like giving up hope, too. Our future is different now—there’s uncertainty everywhere we turn.

Yet this verse reveals Job was confident of seeing his Redeemer—the only hope he had left.

We may feel like our days are nothing but misery weighing us down, without joy on the horizon. Focusing on Jesus and his resurrection changes our most difficult days into ones filled with hope.

Like Job, meditate on the resurrection and Jesus’ return to redeem His people. Don’t the things of earth grow strangely dim (in the light of His glory and grace)?
