Tomorrow would have been my dad’s 100th birthday, had he not passed away last year.
I miss him, but I have some really great memories!
When I was a little girl, I helped him in his garden. We’d pull out carrots, wash the dirt off with a garden hose, munch on them and have talks.
In college, after a particularly hard day, I walked home (it was only a mile from campus) to find him working in his garden. He pulled out two carrots, washed them off- we munched and talked about life.
He always made things better. He always had wise words for me. He was trustworthy and faithful. A man of integrity.
I’m so grateful for his godly example. I’m thankful he loved me and his family well. I couldn’t have had a better earthly father, but I know my Heavenly Father loves me even more, even better than my dad ever could.
As much as I’d like to believe my dad hung the moon, our earthly fathers can never be perfect, but our Heavenly Father always is. He is trustworthy and will never let us down. What a great reason to put your faith in Him today.!
Good morning,
I loved your tribute to your dad. My dad passed in May unexpectedly and suddenly. He would have been 100 in July. I am also thankful for his godly example, and I miss him, but have so many wonderful memories of him. He left a timeless legacy. My challenge is that I live each day walking with my Heavenly Father to bring glory to Him. May others know the hope, by putting their trust in Jesus…He is coming again, and we will all be reunited for eternity. Hallelujah!!!
Have a wonderful day! Nan Oliver

So sorry for your loss, Sweet Nan! But aren’t we blessed to grow up with godly men for fathers?! So even though we may feel orphaned, we know God is there to fill that vacant spot! Thank you for reading, friend.
Love this post. We need more fathers like your father.
Thank you. You’re a good dad, too.

Thank you for stopping by to read, Michelle. So kind. 💕🐝
What beautiful memories he has left you with! Not to mention a skill you can use your entire life. Gardening is such a wonderful opportunity for bonding.
Gardening is a fun way to bond- yes! Even if you need to do it in terracotta pots! Thank you for reading, Christa.
