In Jeremiah 11, we see the town of Anathoth, Jeremiah’s hometown, all plotting to kill him. For multiple reasons, they didn’t like his message, and they wanted him silenced.
Jeremiah had two options: run and hide, or call on God.
When we are faithful to God’s call we may receive pushback as well. Like Jeremiah, we can run and hide or call on God for help. Hiding compromises our message, but calling on God lets Him reinforce it.
What will you choose?
I would choose some serious prayer. There is no one-size-fits-all answer, and God alone knows everything. There have been times when He called His servants to stay, fight, even face martyrdom. Other times they escaped, like Paul’s being lowered out the window in a basket! When persecution broke out in Jerusalem, the believers fled, scattering and spreading the gospel everywhere – which is what they were supposed to be doing in the first place! 😉
Thanks for reading. I value your point! Praying and waiting on God’s response is so important- and if His answer is to run and hide, I’d do that, too! 😍
