As Surely as the Sun Rises

It’s difficult being on the receiving end of betrayal, but have you ever thought Jesus is wanting to draw you closer to Him—to trust Him more?

Beauty from ashes.

Refined by fire.

Blessings in disguise.

Experiencing betrayal is never, ever what we wanted. A dissolved marriage or uncertain future is not a part of the plan. We never dreamed we’d be dealing with shame, blame, and secrecy, accompanied with losing hope or feelings of confusion.

Yet, had we not experienced such a trial, where might we be—drifting along in our daily routine, forgetting our faith?

God may be stirring things up for His purposes and for our best.

Unfair? We’ve probably felt this way more than once.

We’d rather He’d choose someone else to pick on, right?

But maybe this heart-shattering is a sign of His mercy or blessing, instead. To tenderly cradle us closer to His heart?

His ways and timing are perfect—even when we don’t understand His methods. We can approach Him with our cares and concerns, because He understands betrayal.

It’s heart-wrenching work to trust Him and rest in His provision, but He really does work ALL things for our good—even though at the time we’d never believe anything good could come from it.

As contradictory to our understanding as it is, this new perspective may be key in helping us heal.

Allow Him to hold you and love on you while you wait on the One who is there for you—as surely as the sun rises.

“Let us acknowledge the Lord; let us press on to acknowledge him. As surely as the sun rises, he will appear. He will come to us like the winter rains, like the spring rains that water the earth.” Hosea 6:3 NIV
