“But you have turned from the way and by your teaching have caused many to stumble; you have violated the covenant with Levi,” says the Lord Almighty.    Malachi 2:8 NIV

Prophet Malachi (430 B.C.) was angry with the priests because although they were God’s messengers to the Israelites, they didn’t know God’s will. This ignorance was inexcusable. Malachi had a clear message—one we (the church) can benefit from.

The people had forgotten their relationship with God, taking on a casual attitude. Being willfully disobedient and ignorant led them into sin, with pride hardening hearts.

Men were callously divorcing faithful wives to marry younger pagan women. Similar to our own culture, we are far off course from what God intends for his beloved children.

Distorting God’s truth has its consequences. The enemy is out to deceive us and get us to believe his lies. The only way to know truth is to spend time meditating on God’s Word. How intentional are we to spend time reading truth? Let’s start fresh today—to see what God has for us.
