Getting Your Buttons Pushed?

Do you know someone who pushes your buttons?

King David certainly did. In Psalm 56 he talks about it and pleads with God to be gracious to him (because his attacker continually trampled on him and oppressed him).

David also tells us what he does when he’s afraid. In verse 3 he says, “I put my trust in you. In God, whose word I praise, in God I trust; I shall not be afraid. What can flesh do to me?”

Although his adversary tried to injure his cause all day long, had evil thoughts against him, stirred up strife, lurking and waiting to take his life, he knew one thing for certain.

“God is for me.” (Verse 9)

“You have kept count of my tossings; put my tears in your bottle.” (Verse 8)

We can rest assured God sees and knows what upsets us. He knows our thoughts, our tossings and turnings in the night, our fears, and every tear shed. He is for us and he is our defender and deliverer. Amen.
