Have you ever heard, “God will not give us more than we can handle?”
Although comforting, it’s not scriptural. The Word does say, “God is faithful; He will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear.”
See the difference? God does test us- sometimes MORE than we can handle! Do you wonder why? Perhaps, it’s because He wants us totally dependent on him?
We often admire those who are self-reliant. Seldom giving nor asking for advice, but never accurately predicting consequences to choices with certainty, either. No one can know or predict the future!
We should never be totally self-reliant or we will be doomed to fail. Be wise instead- depending on and trusting in God. Only then are we promised safety and security.
